SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood Public Library remains closed to the public because of the coronavirus pandemic. However, the Main Street library is hosting a virtual historical presentation on Friday, June 5 at 7 p.m. on Zoom. Old Glory - History of the American Flag will be hosted by Kevin Woyce. Woyce traces the history of the American flag from its beginnings during the American Revolution to the introduction of the 50th star in 1960. The program will also explore how a poem about the 1814 Battle of Baltimore became the country's national anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner."
In order to receive the Zoom link, participants must register online at the Spotswood Public Library's website by noon on Friday, June 5. Participants must include their email address in the registration in order to receive the necessary link for the program.
