SPOTSWOOD, NJ - In the wake of the announcement on Monday, May 4 that New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy is closing school buildings for the remainder of the academic year, the Spotswood PTA in conjunction with Helmetta Mayor Chris Slavicek is hosting Virtual Teacher Appreciation Spirit Week. Spotswood School District students are invited to show their appreciation for their teachers each day this week by posting on the Spotswood NJ PTA's Facebook page, tagging @SpotswoodPTA on Instagram or by emailing their pictures to spotswoodnjpta@gmail.com. A daily winner will be chosen randomly to receive a special prize from Mayor Slavicek. This week's virtual spirit days are as follows:

  • Monday - Students can share a picture with a message of thank you to their teachers
  • Tuesday - Write a rhyme or a poem about a favorite teacher and share it along with a photo
  • Wednesday - Share a picture along with a wish for a teacher
  • Thursday - Share a picture along with a thankful message for a teacher
  • Friday - Share a picture to celebrate specials teachers

The Spotswood PTA and Mayor Slavicek have been hosting virtual spirit weeks since remote learning began back in March.
