HELMETTA, NJ - Larry Osterberg is on the frontline during the coronavirus crisis. The longtime Helmetta resident is a patient transport aide for Hackensack Meridian Health at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Osterberg has been a patient transport aide for the past 10 years and the coronavirus pandemic has not changed his dedication to his job despite working directly with patients ill with the virus. He was nominated to be the latest Helmetta Hometown Hero by his wife Michelle.

"I want to take this opportunity and thank him for his bravery and dedication to his job," Michelle Osterberg said of her husband.

When he is not working, Osterberg enjoys kicking back and fishing. Fishing is his first love though his wife Michelle says she is a close second.

If you know a Helmetta Hometown Hero like Osterberg who is on the frontline of the coronavirus crisis, send borough Mayor Chris Slavicek an email at mayor@helmettaboro.com. Nominations should include the person's name, a brief description of their job, what makes them a hometown hero and a photograph.
