HELMETTA/SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood PTA typically has giving trees located in all the Spotswood School District schools in early November. Parents would choose a gift off the tree to purchase to help make the holidays a little brighter for local families. However, this unique holiday season with so many families impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, the Spotswood PTA is joining with the Helmetta and Spotswood communities to expand the reach of those four giving trees.

Coats, toys and holiday cheer will be collected for local families in need as well as children at the Ozaman Family Shelter and Dina's Dwelling. Residents can sign up online for specific gifts such as basketballs, Lego sets, board games, children's coat sizes and more. Donations can be dropped off at any Spotswood Recreation Department events in October, November and December. Gifts can also be dropped off every Saturday at the Spotswood Municipal Building and the Helmetta Community Center from 10 a.m. to noon from November 14 through December 12.

Monetary donations can also be made. Gifts will be purchased using donation money. Donations checks should be made payable to the Spotswood PTA and can dropped off at the above locations or mailed to the Spotswood PTA, 23 Vliet Street, Spotswood, NJ 08884.
