HELMETTA, NJ - For the past 12 years, Susan Koscinski has worked as a patient transporter at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. The coronavirus pandemic has not changed Koscinski's dedication to her job or the patients she helps every day. Koscinski was nominated to be Saturday's Helmetta Hometown Hero by her sister Tammy because of her compassionate and giving nature.

"I am truly thankful for my sister Susan," Tammy Covington. "She is the most caring, down to earth and selfless person I know. I am forever grateful for all that she does for her job, family and friends. She is our hero!"

When she is not at the hospital, Koscinski loves spending time with her family. She especially enjoys gardening in her yard.

If you know a Helmetta Hometown Hero like Koscinski who is on the frontline of the coronavirus crisis, send Borough Mayor Chris Slavicek an email at mayor@helmettaboro.com. Nominations should include the person's name, a brief description of their job, what makes them a hometown hero and a photograph.
