NEW JERSEY — Governor Phil Murphy was in Union City Tuesday with Mayor Brian Stack to rally folks to fill out the 2020 Census. There are only eight days left to complete it. The census is quick, easy, safe, and can be completed online.
Murphy reported New Jersey has 457 new positive cases, for a cumulative total of 200,580. There are also seven new confirmed COVID-19 deaths, occurring in the past 12 days, for a total of 14,285 lives lost. On Thursday, September 24, a virtual conversation with Murphy and Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, will be live-streamed on the governor's Facebook page. Residents can tune in at 11:15 a.m.
Any people traveling to New Jersey from what is considered an 'impacted state,' should self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. As of Tuesday, the governor's quarantine travel advisory applies to travel from 35 states and U.S. jurisdictions that meet the criteria. Arizona, Minnesota, Nevada and Rhode Island were re-added. Wyoming made the list for the first time. The ful list includes the following:
AL, AK, AZ, AR, DE, FL, GA, GU, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NC, ND, OK, PR, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV, WI, WY
NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION DAY
Murphy reminded folks on Facebook that it’s National Voter Registration Day, a nonpartisan civic holiday and said it's quite easy to register in New Jersey. One can register to vote and confirm their voter registration at nj.gov/state/elections. October 13 is the deadline to register to vote in the November 3 General Election.
