SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Monday, June 8 virtual meeting of the Spotswood Borough Council has a full agenda, including a temporary resolution to open up outdoor seating for local food and beverage establishments. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy said at his daily press conference on June 1 that outdoor dining would be allowed on June 15 with limited seating.
The outdoor seating resolution on Monday's agenda is limited to 120-days and includes numerous standards for borough restaurants to adhere to. Outdoor areas may not be larger than 1,000 feet according to the resolution and must be closed by 10 p.m. in the evening.
Other resolutions on the June 8 agenda include the appointment of Administrative Assistant Cate Leedy to the position of Human Resource Officer and the application to the county by the borough to receive CARES Act stimulus funding. Spotswood Borough Council meetings have been virtual since mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic.
