MILLTOWN, NJ - Save the date for the George Street Playhouse Touring Theater's performance of "Anytown" on March 5 at 7 p.m. at the Joyce Kilmer School. The event is sponsored by the Milltown Municipal Alliance and the Milltown PTA. Milltown, Spotswood and Helmetta parents are invited to attend along with students in seventh and eighth grade or high school. The free performance is not recommended for younger children due to the sensitive subject matter.

"Anytown" focuses on addiction issues through the fictional portrayal of the struggles of high school soccer star Hope Baker. The character is a high-level student athlete with a bright future that begins to unravel when a friend offers her a pill to help allieviate the pain associated with a soccer injury. The pill ends up leading to long term use, which is often how many addiction problems begin. The play is based on interviews with families battling many forms of addiction including those beginning with pain killers.
