SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood School District is closed on Friday, March 13 as a precautionary measure after a parent contacted Superintendent Graham Peabody on Thursday evening to report that a colleague in their workplace tested positive for the coronavirus. Even though the parent and the rest of the employees in the office tested negative, Peabody decided to close the four schools in the Spotswood District following conversations with the Spotswood and Helmetta Offices of Emergency Management. Peabody stated in an email blast to parents in the district that the closure will also allow the New Jersey Department of Health to access the situation. All events and extracurricular activities through the upcoming weekend are canceled as well. The district will be using one of their five unused snow days.
