SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Beginning on Thursday, March 12 the Spotswood Senior Center is canceling all of its trips, activities and classes until further notice. However, medical transportation, food shopping, social service counseling and income tax preparation will continue according to the designated times and schedules. The closure is to help protect community seniors who are more vulnerable to COVID-19.
Middlesex County currently has two confirmed cases with one in East Brunswick. New Jersey has 23 confirmed cases of the coronavirus with the results of 37 cases still pending. East Brunswick has closed its senior center through March 28 and will close its school district for the remainder of the week.
Residents can visit the New Jersey Department of Health's website for up-to-date information on the novel coronavirus. The department has also set up a hotline for residents to call.
