EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Within the past hour, a family van and a mini-vehicle allegedly ran through the stop sign at the intersection of Hardenburgh Lane and Fresh Ponds Road at a location that has been plagued by accidents.
The van ran up on the lawn of a corner home on Hardenburgh Lane, hitting a tree and running over a nest of bees. In both cars, all air bags were deployed.
An infant, two children and two women were involved in the accident. At the time of this report, at least one of them is on the way to the hospital.
Police and emergency vehicles were on the scene assisting those involved and managing the accident location while waiting for tow truck to arrive.
Recently the signage at this location has been increased in size and the speed limit has been reduced on Fresh Ponds Road, yet neighbors report that speeding still continues and many people do not stop for the flashing red light or slow down for the yellow one.
