HELMETTA, NJ - Dave Allen has been a borough resident for the past two years. He is a proud public servant. Allen has been a New Jersey State Trooper since January of 2012. His varied work responsibilities include traffic enforcement along the New Jersey Turnpike as well as responding to critical calls and motor vehicle accidents. He also assists medical personnel and helps motorists with a wide variety of issues. The coronavirus crisis has changed his typically duties somewhat, but not his commitment to serving the people of New Jersey. The pandemic has enhanced his dedication to public safety and the residents of the Garden State. Allen was nominated to be Tuesday's Helmetta Hometown Hero by his girlfriend, Natalya Volkov.

"He is an amazing cook and has a wonderful heart," Volkov says of Allen.

When he is not on the job, Allen enjoys spending time with his family. His hobbies include wine, snowboarding, hiking and fishing.

If you know a Helmetta Hometown Hero like Allen who is on the frontline of the coronavirus crisis, send Borough Mayor Chris Slavicek an email at mayor@helmettaboro.com. Nominations should include the person's name, a brief description of their job, what makes them a hometown hero and a photograph.
