HELMTTA, NJ - Sunday, April 12 will be a very different Easter Sunday than people would have envisioned a couple of months ago. Borough Mayor Chris Slavicek is inviting residents to come out on to their front porches on Easter Sunday to listen as the bells of both St. George and Holy Trinity Churches ring out at noon.

The bells will honor the lives of those lost to the coronavirus pandemic as well as the frontline police officers, fire fighters, OEM, EMS workers, truck drivers, delivery drivers, grocery clerks, doctors, nurses, healthcare professionals, restaurant personnel and all the public and community members working every day to help keep residents safe.

Slavicek hopes residents can share a smile and a friendly wave with one another while remembering to practice the social distancing guidelines put down by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy.
