SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Allison Clarke earned her second straight double-double in the Spotswood High School girls varsity basketball team's 51-34 loss to South River High School on Monday. Clarke netted 13 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for the Chargers. Clarke has 135 points and 120 rebounds in 16 games for Spotswood. Ashley Fisher and Tiffany Fisher dominated South River's offense. Tiffany Fisher dropped 21 points for the Rams while Ashley scored 18.
Jessica Addesso and Cat Riley both scored five points for Spotswood, whose overall record dropped to .500 with the loss. Julia Masucci and Giana Oelkers each put four points on the scoreboard and grabbed five rebounds. Kirti Craig had five rebounds and Gianna Perez had four rebounds.
Spotswood is back on the court on Wednesday when the team hosts Metuchen High School at the Spotswood High School Gymnasium. The Bulldogs won the previous meeting between the two teams this season. Metuchen has an overall record of 9-6. Spotswood is in fifth place in the Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division while Metuchen is in fourth place. Tip off is at 6 p.m.
