SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Spotswood School District students do not head back to school until Thursday, September 5, but Spotswood High School coaches student-athletes hit the fields for their respective fall sports on Monday, August 12. Spotswood High School offers football, cheerleading, boys and girls soccer, girls tennis and boys and girls cross country during the fall sports season.

The Chargers football program has three scrimmages in August to help prepare the team for the season opener on Saturday, August 7. Spotswood opens the 2019 football season with a 1 p.m. game at the Spotswood High School Stadium against Hillside High School.

The boys and girls soccer teams also have scrimmages in the final three weeks of summer before their season openers in September. The Chargers boys soccer team starts the season on September 3 at home against Middlesex High School while the girls take the field against Carteret High School on September 5. The girls begin the 2019 season with a home game as well.

Both cross country teams have two early September scrimmages before their season opens with an away meet at Sayreville War Memorial High School on September 17. The girls tennis team hits the courts at home against Carteret High School on September 5 for their first match of the season.
