HIGHLAND PARK, NJ - Playing through the rain on Tuesday evening, the Spotswood High School girls varsity soccer team picked up another victory over Highland Park High School. The Chargers defeated the Owls 4-2 behind a pair of goals from Kaylee Leonard. Leonard scored on a setup from Laci Brown and on a pass from goalkeeper Julia Masucci. Mandee Mendez netted an unassisted goal and assisted on Kirti Craig's score.

Spotswood will now sets its sights on the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group One Tournament. The Chargers are the fourth seed and take on 13th seeded Middlesex High School on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Spotswood High School Varsity Soccer Field. Spotswood won both meetings with Middlesex this fall, keeping the Blue Jays off the scoreboard both times. Shore Regional High School is the number one seed in the sectional tournament. South River High School is the number two seed.
