SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Liam Barlow scored two goals and Andrew Bishara earned his fourth straight shutout as the Spotswood High School boys varsity soccer team defeated South River High School 2-0 on Saturday morning. Chris Moran and Luke Tharney each earned an assit on Barlow's goals. Anthony Faccin made three saves for the Rams while Bishara stopped six South River shots.
The Spotswood/South River rivalry is a hot one as this morning's soccer game was a lead in to the afternoon football game between the two schools. Spotswood came out on top on the gridiron today as well. The Chargers travel to South River for the annual night game between the Chargers and the Rams on October 2. Spotswood returns to the field on Monday when the team travels to Edison to take on Wardlaw-Hartridge High School at 4 p.m.
