NEW JERSEY - Three local athletes laced up the sneakers to participate in the 2019 Special Olympics New Jersey Fall Games this weekend. Spotswood's Eric Kish and Milltown's Yoav Nessim both competed in the cycling event held at Skillman Park while Milltown's Charlie Clark participated in the soccer event at Mercer County Park.
Special Olympics New Jersey provides year-round athletic training in 24 Olympic-type sports free of charge. More than 25,000 kids and adults with intellectual disabilities participate in training and competitions throughout the year. The organization has been a part of the Special Olympics for the past 50 years. More than 800 Special Olympic athletes throughout the Garden State participated in the 2019 Special Olympic New Jersey Fall Games.
