ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The Milltown 12U baseball team concluded the six-game pool play portion of its week at Cooperstown All-Star Village with an undefeated record, with the tournament portion of the week yet to be played.
Milltown went 5-0-1, sweeping two games on Tuesday. Milltown defeated Lombard, Ill., 8-2, and the ABC Owlz of California, 8-7, Tuesday.
In the 60-team field of teams from all over the nation that are competing at All-Star Village this week, Milltown was one of only two teams from outside of California to get through pool play without a loss.
Carter Cumiskey has three home runs and Breckyn DeAngelis two home runs for Milltown, which has also received strong hitting from Trey Lazar, Logan Ring, Jeremy DeCaro, Cody Rullo and others so far this week.
The Milltown team, coached by Eric Oleksy, Colin Cumiskey, Steve Spisso and Mark Obriski, recently won the District 10 Tournament and participated in the Section 3 Tournament, where the team won one game out of three. The team has dedicated this tournament to teammate Bubba Oleksy, a first baseman and pitcher for the team who suffered a leg injury in the distict tournament and was unable to make the trip to upstate New York with the team.
