ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The Milltown Padres 12U baseball team finished its successful trip to Cooperstown All-Star Village with a tournament loss to a team from Greenwood, S.C. on Wednesday night.
That was the only loss all week for Milltown, which tore through its pool play schedule with a record of 5-0-1 and outscored its first six opponents by an aggregate score of 47-30, averaging nearly eight runs per game.
The Milltown 12U team, coached by Eric Oleksy, Colin Cumiskey, Steve Spisso and Mark Obriski, recently won the District 10 Tournament and participated in the Section 3 Tournament, where the team won one game out of three. The team has dedicated this tournament to teammate Bubba Oleksy, a first baseman and pitcher for the team who suffered a leg injury in the distict tournament and was unable to make the trip to upstate New York with the team.
Team members were Mason Bitalla, Breckyn DeAngelis, Bobby Duffy, Tyler "Bubba" Oleksy, Trey Lazar, Logan Ring, Jeremy DeCaro, Carter Cumiskey, Cody Rullo, Ryder Simpson and Tristan Obriski. Cumiskey concluded the week with three home runs. DeAngelis hit two homers, and Lazar, Ring, DeCaro and Rullo blasted one home run apiece.
