MILLTOWN, NJ - In the wake of the coronavirus shutdown impacting New Jersey, the borough announced on Monday, March 23 that all of its playgrounds are closed until further notice. The restriction includes all park restrooms, basketball and tennis courts. Milltown's parks and open spaces remain open for residents to enjoy passive recreation activities such as walking, running or biking. However, residents are asked by the borough to utilize the social distancing guidelines put forth from the state and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention when walking, biking or running. Milltown residents are also asked to avoid gathering in large groups while using the borough's parks and open spaces.
The announcement was made via a Nixle advisory released by the Milltown Police Department on Monday. Social distancing guidelines suggest that individuals keep at least a six-feet distance from another person in order to help curb the spread of the coronavirus when outside the house.
