MILLTOWN, NJ - It was a history-making spring season for the Milltown Little League's U12 teams. Both the boys U12 baseball team and the girls U12 softball team brought home District 10 championship titles to the borough. For the girls, it was the first U12 District 10 title in the league's history. Last season, the league's U10 softball team claimed the District 10 title. The U10 winning team sported four of the same players. For the boys, it was the first District 10 title in more than a decade and was capped off by a summer trip to Cooperstown to compete in U12 tournament that attracts teams from across the country.

On Tuesday, both teams were honored for their accomplishments at the Milltown Borough Council meeting, receiving an official proclamation from the town. Each player as well as the teams' coaches were awarded a special certificate. Afterwards, both teams headed over to Brunswick Grove to enjoy a dual celebration.

"We are very thankful to the Borough of Milltown and Brunswick Grove for making our kids feel special about their accomplishment," said Doug Redondo.

Redondo is one of the coaches of the title-winning U12 softball team.
