SPOTSWOOD, NJ - After four consecutive losses, the Spotswood High School boys varsity basketball team bounced back with a big 55-37 victory over South River High School. George Guyette, Kyle Davey and Jack Welsh all put up double digits to help the Chargers end the slide. Guyette and Davey both netted a dozen points while Welsh dropped 11. James Clarke scored nine and Andrew Bishara added six. Jack Andrulewich and Darius Harrison both chipped in two points.
Jordon Crawford was South River's high scorer with 10. Lazaro Rodriguez and Kobe Taylor both scored eight for the Rams who have struggled in the win department as well this season. Spotswood's victory improves the team's overall record to 3-5. The Chargers are 2-2 in the Blue Division. Spotswood hosts the Bulldogs on Friday at 6 p.m. The Chargers and Metuchen split their meetings last year. Metuchen has won their last two outings and is 3-4 this season.
