METUCHEN, NJ - Jack Welsh and George Guyette put in a strong offensive performance to help the Spotswood High School boys varsity basketball team defeat Metuchen High School 60-51 on Wednesday. The victory was Spotswood's second in a row after a string of losses. Welsh led both sides in points with 17. Guyette netted 15 for the Chargers while Kyle Davey added nine and James Clarke chipped in eight. Michael Piovoso scored 15 points for the Bulldogs and Luke Schleck netted 13. Dominic Schiappa added 11 for Metuchen and Jai Dreherll had 11 rebounds.

The win improves Spotswood's overall record to 7-10. Spotswood is back on the court on Friday to take on Middlesex High School. Middlesex has an overall record of 10-7. The Blue Jays won the previous meeting between the two teams this season. Tip off is at 6 p.m. at Middlesex High School.
