SOUTH AMBOY, NJ - George Guyette netted 23 and Jack Welsh dropped 22 points to help the Spotswood boys varsity basketball team defeat South Amboy High School 66-54 on Thursday. The victory was Spotswood's fifth straight and evened the team's overall record to 10-10.Spotswood had a 35-36 lead at halftime and kept South Amboy to only seven points in the third quarter.
Kyle Davey scored 13 points for the Chargers. Andrew Bishara added five and James Clarke chipped in three. Artis Ray and Deavonte Jones both scored 10 points for Spotswood. The Chargers travel to Edison on Saturday to take on Edison High School at 11:30 a.m. Spotswood won last season's meeting with Edison. Edison has an overall record of 15-5 and is 12-3 against Greater Middlesex Conference teams. Spotswood has a conference record of 7-7.
