ROBBINSVILLE, NJ - Ryan Smith's 22 points helped to lead Robbinsville High School past the Spotswood High School boys varsity basketball team 56-48 on Monday. Spotswood had a 24-22 lead at the halftime break, but Robbinsville came on strong in the final quarter to lock down the game. Robbinsville outscored the Chargers 16-8 in the final minutes of the game.
George Guyette was Spotswood's top scorer, putting up 15 points. James Clarke also netted double digits with 14. Kyle Davey scored eight for Spotswood while Jack Welsh put in four. Jack Andrulewich and Casey Cumiskey both added three. Keith Motusesky netted 16 for Robbinsville and Darren Henderson added 11 for Robbinsville.
The loss evened Spotswood's overall record at 1-1 while Robbinsville remains undefeated with a 2-0 overall record. Monday's game was Sposwood's final for 2019. The team travels to Bound Brook High School on Friday for its annual holiday tournament. Spotswood begins play on Friday at 5 p.m. against Point Pleasant Beach High School. The Chargers get back to regular season play on January 3 when the team travels to Carteret High School. Tip off is at 5 p.m. against the Ramblers.
