PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, NJ - The Spotswood High School boys varsity basketball team came up short against New Egypt High School on Saturday, losing 51-46. Spotswood was down by two at the half and out shot 29-26 by the Warriors in the final two quarters. Adam Harris was the game's top scorer, netting 17 for New Egypt. Jack Welsh put up 16 for Spotswood while James Clarke downed 11. George Guyette added nine on the scoreboard for the Chargers while Andrew Bishara chipped in five. Jack Andrulewich scored three for Spotswood in the loss. Michael Dolan had 16 for New Egypt and Randy Steen netted 13 for the Warriors.
Saturday's loss drops Spotswood's overall record to 2-4. Spotswood is 1-1 in the Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division. The Chargers host St. Thomas Aquinas on Monday at the Spotswood High School Gymnasium at 6 p.m. St. Thomas has a 6-1 record to start the season and has won the team's last four outings. The Trojans won both games against Spotswood last season.
