SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood High School boys varsity basketball team came away with a 52-44 victory over Metuchen High School on Friday. Spotswood had a one point lead at the halftime break, but out scored the Bulldogs 28-24 in the final two quarters to nail down the team's fourth win of the season. Dominic Schiappa was the hot hand of the game, dropping 21 points for Metuchen. George Guyette netted 16 to lead Spotswood while James Clarke downed a dozen points. Kyle Davey put up six for the Chargers who also got five points from Jack Welsh. Jack Andrulewich added three and freshman Casey Cumiskey chipped in two.
Spotswood improved the team's overall record to 4-5 and moved to 2-2 in the Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division. The Chargers will look to continue the win streak when they travel to Manville High School on Saturday. Tip off is at noon.
