SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The Spotswood High School boys varsity soccer team lost to South Plainfield High School 2-1 on Monday to end a two game win streak. Luke Tharney netted the only goal for Spotswood on a pass from Yanni Hatzistefanis. Victor Balewicz and Rohan Castillo scored the goals for the Tigers while Adrian Dominguez and Jose Galdamez both earned assists. Bryan Cruz made five saves for South Plainfield and Spotswood's Andrew Bishara stopped eight Tiger shots.

Spotswood took the earlier meeting between the two teams this season 3-2. The Chargers host Highland Park High School on Wednesday at the Spotswood High School Varsity Soccer Field. Highland Park is 6-1 for the 2019 season. The Owls have won the last three matchups with the Chargers.
