PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Spotswood High School girls varsity tennis team shook off a tough loss to Colonia High School on Wednesday and bounced back with a 3-2 victory over Highland Park High School at Johnson Park. Spotswood's doubles teams were both winners as was third singles player Kate Acheampong. Acheampong won her second varsity match in a row, defeating Kayra Gok, (6-3, 6-2) to help give the Chargers the team's third win of the season.

The first doubles pair of Melody Dzergoski and Angelina Moschella kept their personal undefeated streak alive with a straight set win over Abby Carman and Nicole Chakhalian. Dzergoski and Moschella won the match, (6-0, 6-1). Spotswood's second doubles team of Chloe Donelan and Lindsey Michaels won by forfeit. Cyanne Chan lost her first singles match to Highland Park's Gloria Sohn, (7-5, 6-1). Axelle Lemiere lost her second singles match to Lucy Wang, (6-0, 6-1).

The victory moves Spotswood's overall shortened season record to 3-2. Spotswood is back on the court on Monday when the Chargers travel to Edison to take on St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Matches begin at 4 p.m.
