SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood High School varsity football team will play its first game of the season on Saturday, October 3 at 1 p.m at the Spotswood High School Stadium against Metuchen High School. Spotswood finished the 2019 season with a 4-6 overall record and a 4-2 record in the Greater Middlesex Conference Gold Division. The 2020 schedule has been shortened due to the coronavirus crisis for all fall sports teams. High school teams officially begin practices on Monday, September 14.

Spotswood's 2020 varsity football schedule is as follows:

  • Saturday, October 3 against Metuchen High School at 1 p.m. at the Spotswood High School Stadium
  • Saturday, October 10 against South River High School at 1 p.m. at South River High School
  • Saturday, October 17 against St. Thomas Aquinas High School at 1 p.m. at the Spotswood High School Stadium
  • Saturday, October 24 against North Plainfield High School at 1 p.m. at the Spotswood High School Stadium
  • Friday, October 30 against Middlesex High School at 7 p.m. at Mountain View Park in Middlesex
  • Friday, November 6 against Bound Brook High School at 7 p.m. at Bound Brook High School

The Saturday, October 17 game against St. Thomas will be Senior Day. Spotswood's annual Homecoming game is against North Plainfield on Saturday, October 24. Spectators will be allowed at games, but according to Spotswood High School Athletic Director Michael Del Alversano, the number will be limited. Tickets for all home games will be given out beforehand.
