SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Walking and running while still practicing the social distancing guidelines put forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention during the coroavirus crisis has become a popular activity since most residents are attending school and working from home. To make the daily walk or run a little more interesting, the Spotswood Recreation Department's Running Club is putting up a daily scavenger hunt post on Facebook.

Each evening Robert Hilse, a member of the Spotswood Recreation Department Committee, is posting an item to look for while out for a run or a walk on the club's Facebook page. Participants simply need to locate the item, take a selfie and post the picture in the comment section under the day's announcement post. Runners and walkers joining in 15 times or more over the next 30 days will be automatically entered in a random drawing to receive a gift card.

Interested walkers and runners not already a member of the Spotswood REC Department's Running Club can sign up for free online at the department's website. Then, join the club's Facebook group. Typically, the club holds weekly runs on the weekend as well as other running events that lead up to the annual Spotswood 5K in the fall.
