SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood High School varsity wrestling team lost back-to-back meets as the high school starts its spring break week. Spotswood hosted Metuchen High School on Friday afternoon and lost to the Bulldogs 60-22. On Saturday, the Chargers traveled to Iselin to face John F. Kennedy Memorial High School 40-30. Spotswood is still looking for its first victory on the mat this season. The Chargers have five straight losses since opening the pandemic shortened wrestling season on St. Patrick's Day.

Zach Weiner, Bill Schwemmer, Steve Melillo, and Bob Wehrle won their matches in their respective weight classes against Metuchen. Nick Andre, Schwemmer, Melillo, Wehrle, and Weiner won against JFK on Saturday.

Spotswood is back on the mat on Wednesday when the team heads to Sayreville War Memorial High School to take on the Bombers. Sayreville is winless in two meets this season. Matches begin at 7 p.m.
