6th Annual S.O.F.I.A. Walk Against Domestic Violence, Sept. 10 in Montclair


Montclair, N.J. – This Saturday, September 10, 2016, Start Out Fresh Intervention Advocates (S.O.F.I.A.) will once again spread the word that “With Awareness There is Hope” at its 6th Annual Walk Against Domestic Violence in Montclair’s Canterbury Park. Registration for the event begins at 9 AM, the Walk begins at 10 AM, and the program will end at about Noon.  This year’s Grand Marshall is Saleemah Staten, a 20 year domestic violence survivor and owner of NJ Hair Salon in Union, NJ.

S.O.F.I.A. is pleased to share the generous sponsors who make the Walk Against Domestic Violence possible. Phil and Tammy Murphy and Supreme Energy are GOLD Sponsors this year.  The Montclair Neighborhood Development Corporation (MNDC) and NJ Hair Studio are both SILVER Sponsors. And this year’s BRONZE Sponsors are Applebee’s, Eureka Lodge, Fellowship Baptist Church in Irvington NJ, Boiling Springs Bank, Haven Savings, Love You Girl, Brother to Brother, and Baskerville Moving Montclair 4-Ward.  These sponsorships help keep our support programs and victims services vibrant, consistent, and effective.

It’s not too late to get involved! Registration for individuals starts at just $10, and Team Captains can register teams for $35 and have team members sign up for $10 each.
