EAST ORANGE, NJ - Saturday was a busy day for first responders in Montclair that ended with an awkward tale of events.
After rescuing a man who had become trapped in a trench with an oil tank, emergency workers began transporting the man to University of Medicine and Dentistry Hospital (UMDNJ), TAPinto Montclair first reported.
While traveling from Montclair to Newark sometime after 3pm, breaking news reports indicate that an ambulance was involved in a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Main St. and S. Grove St. in East Orange.
There were no injuries in the ambulance accident, according to Deputy Fire Chief Robert Duncan.
It has not been confirmed whether the two incidents are connected. However, other emergency units were dispatched to complete the transport safely.
