Apartment Fire on Forest Street Quickly Contained by Montclair Firefighters

MONTCLAIR, NJ - A fire broke out inside the third-floor apartment of a three-family house located at 146 Forest St. on Tuesday evening at 4:30 p.m. 

The third-floor apartment was quickly engulfed in flames and the young man living in the apartment escaped safely. The flames could be seen coming out of both the second- and third-floor apartment windows. 

Firefighters were able to quickly contain and extinguish the fire in under an hour. Disaster Relief officials were on the scene to assist displaced tenants. 

There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire was under investigation at the time of publishing.
