MONTCLAIR, NJ - A $300,000 bail has been set for 37-year-old Anthony Johnson of Belleville, a suspect arrested in connection with slashing a 41-year-old female in Nishuane Park.
On July 23 at approximately 10:45 p.m., Montclair Police Officers responded to the intersection of Cedar Avenue and High Street on a report of a female screaming.
Officers had discovered that a 41-year-old female Newark resident had been assaulted with an unknown cutting weapon inside Nishuane Park. During the assault, she sustained severe lacerations to her back and neck and was subsequently transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene.
An investigation with cooperating law enforcement agencies resulted in the suspect, Johnson being arrested by Montclair Detectives for allegedly committing this assault.
He was charged with Aggravated Assault and Weapons Offenses.
