MONTCLAIR, NJ - The newly renovated house at 24 Gates Avenue was struck on Monday in a single vehicle accident.

Sometime around 5:30p.m., a female driver lost control of her vehicle and ran into the front porch of the house. Montclair police, firefighters and EMTs arrived on the scene within minutes of the accident. The driver sustained no visible injuries in the accident.

While the driver sat on the front steps, firefighters worked to dislodge the vehicle, which was wedged underneath the front porch of the house.

A tenant living in the home was in the house at the time of the accident and told TAP into Montclair that she heard a loud noise and felt the house shake, thus prompting her to take a closer look.
