About Marine Futin

Dazzling, energetic, and truly refreshing! These adjectives come to mind when listening to Qui Danse, the début album of Marine Futin, singer-songwriter, guitarist, and composer based in Brooklyn, mecca to the greatest jazz musicians. Qui Danse is all about jazz with pop and folk influences, embroidered with aerial arrangements by musicians Nir Felder and Gilad Hekselman on guitars, Ziv Ravitz on drums, and Or Baraket on bass. A newcomer to the international Francophone pop scene, Marine Futin belongs to a still rare breed of singers who devote as much attention to their texts as to their accompaniments. At a time when pop and French music is abandoning musicians for software and other beatbox machines, Marine proves that it is still possible to compose an entirely acoustic yet fundamentally modern repertoire.

Presented as part of Le French Week New Jersey.
