The First Unitarian Society, 724 Park Avenue, Plainfield, will host a day of

Plainfield. The Pride and Purpose Film Fest will celebrate and feature LGBTQIA writers,

artists, business entrepreneurs, and film makers in event designed specifically for our diverse

The featured short films and the world Premiere of SEEN were chosen to explore, entertain and

celebrate LGBTQIA issues as well as promote work by and featuring LBGTQIA film makers

and artists. The dynamic and interactive workshops by LGBTQ leaders explore daily challenges

and opportunities for the LGTQ community and allies: Financial Wealth in the Digital Age,

Stress and Self Care, Intermittent Fasting for Weight Loss and Creating Your Truth: Embrace

Who You are by Creating Dope Content. HIV testing, and health information will be available.

The 6:00 pm Panel Discussion, Art, Social Justice and Change includes among others, Tony

Award winning producer and press agent Irene Gandy, Transgender Advocate and spoken word

artist Royce Hall, and Freeholder Rebecca Williams in a thoughtful exploration of the unique

role of LGTQIA community in art and social justice.  The culmination of the festival is the World

Premiere of SEEN, a film by Dï Thomas Pictures. A talk back with the filmmaker Thomas and a

reception will follow the screening.

The City of Plainfield and M.PoWeR Arts have joined together to create this signature event, the

second annual celebration of gay pride month in Plainfield. Plainfield native Onyx Keesha, Film

maker and Executive Director of M.PoWeR, contributed her vision and experience as activist-
