EAST ORANGE, NJ - The East Orange YMCA is hosting a week-long Air Force Association CyberCamp for students in sixth through ninth grades from Essex County communities; beginning Aug. 1-5 (Monday through Friday),  9 a.m. to 3 p.m at the Capital One Computer Lab at the East Orange YMCA, 100 N. Arlington Ave, East Orange.

Participants will work with virtual models to learn hands-on computer security principles, including ethics and safety. They’ll learn how to protect their personal devices and information from outside threats and work in diverse teams — all skills that will greatly assist them in future careers. 

Additionally, on Friday, Aug. 5, they will take part in nationwide cyber competition.The Metro YMCA is the only YMCA in the nation to host one of 86 AFA CyberCamps in 2016.
