Essex County, NJ – The public is invited to participate in the Annual Essex County Parks Photography Contest.  All photographic entries must highlight a visit to the historic Essex County Parks System. The free contest is open to the public and the deadline to submit entries is Wednesday, September 17th.

Do you think that you have what it takes to be a photographer?  Are you always the one pulling out the camera at family functions?  Are you a professional photographer looking to display your talent?  If this applies to you, then this contest may be your big chance to show the world your photographic artwork.

“Our annual photo competition is an opportunity for photographers of all ages to explore our gorgeous and beautiful parks system and share their experience through their photography. It’s a great way to display your artistic talents, have fun and enhance your appreciation of nature,” DiVincenzo said. “I look forward to seeing the photographs that are submitted because each one offers a unique perspective of our historic Parks System.”

An entry form must be completed for each photograph and photographs must be submitted as an unframed, 8x10-inch print. A digital copy of the photograph must be provided if it was taken in a digital format.

Judging will be done by a group of professionals, with decisions based on creativity, technical superiority, composition, and the photograph’s depiction of the uniqueness of the Essex County Parks System.

The photographs will be on display at the Essex County Environmental Center from Saturday, October 4th through Friday, October 31st. For contest rules and regulations, please contact the Environmental Center at 973-228-8776.
