Free Film Screening of the 'Last Five Years' at Montclair State University, Feb. 17

MONTCLAIR, NJ - Due to a snow event, the film screening for The Last Five Years was changed to Feb. 17This new film stars Jeremy Jordan and Anna Kendrick and opened in theaters on February 13, just in time for Valentine's Day.

Hosted by MSU's John Cali School of Music, the screening will begin at 7:00p.m. at MSU's Leshowitz Recital Hall, John Cali School of Music. Director Richard LaGravanese and producer Lauren Versel will speak after the screening.

The Last Five Years is a musical chronicling a love affair and marriage taking place over a five year period. Jamie Wallerstein (Jordan) is a young, talented up and coming novelist who falls in love with Cathy Hiatt (Kendrick), a struggling actress. Their story is told almost entirely through song.  All of Cathy's songs begin at the end of their marriage and move backwards in time to the beginning of their love affair, while Jamie's songs start at the beginning of their affair and move forward to the end of their marriage. They meet in the center when Jamie proposes.
