The 45,000 square foot facility will be state-of-the-art with accessibility to New York and surrounding communities. Hospital officials announced that they are planning for an assortment of medical practices by top health and wellness professionals.

On hand for the ceremony, were John Fromhold, CEO of HMH Mountainside Medical Center, Jon F. Hanson, Chairman, the Hampshire Companies, David Vandewater, President & CEO Ardent Health Services,  Robert Garrett, Co-CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health, John Lloyd Co-CEO Hackensack Meridian Health, Frank Fekete, Chairman JV Board of Mountainside Medical Center, Mayor Stuart K. After Fromhold welcomed all in attendance introducing the stakeholders who made the project possible, Patrick added,  " t was a pleasure to work with Mayor Jackson. As both communities share services and with Mountainside in both towns, there was a lot of legal language that had to be worked out, and we did it."

Jackson responded with banter, saying, "While Mayor Patrick was kind in his remarks, we went through hell in finalizing the details to where we are today."

"This new center will be a vital part of the community. I, as so many others, have a personal connection, as I was born at this hospital."

Closing out the remarks, Fromhold stated, "This is just the beginning, as the best is yet to come as Mountainside expands its services and continues to provide the care that it has provided for over 127 years."

Following remarks, attendees gathered at the site where shovels and helmets were ready. On the count of 3, dirt was tossed making it official.

Upon completion the three-story, 45000 sq. ft. facility, will accommodate 40-50 physicians, health practitioners and social service providers, designed to connect health and wellness services, including obstetrics, gynecology, vascular, neurosurgery, urology, general surgery, cardiology, orthopedics, ENT and pediatrics.
