MONTCLAIR, NJ - HOMECorp has received a $10,000 grant from M&T Bank Charitable Foundation, officials announced.

The grant award is specifically designated for the renovation of their new office building that is located at 17 Talbot Street in Montclair.

With staff and program expansions, HOMECorp has outgrown its current office space at 1 Woodland Avenue. As a result, they are leasing the former Frog Hollow Day Care Center from the Township of Montclair at a nominal cost for the next five years.

Originally scheduled for this summer, HOMECorp’s move to the larger space has been delayed while funds are raised to cover the necessary renovations.  Other generous contributions toward the renovations have been received from the Hyde & Watson Foundation and Ellen and Bill McCahill.

HOMECorp’s mission is to create and maintain housing that preserves economic diversity and ignites community revitalization while fostering financial empowerment.

Thanks to the lease agreement with Montclair, leaders express that the new office space will allow HOMECorp to expand its preservation of affordable housing and hire more staff to meet the large demand for financial and housing counseling services by individuals and families who seek affordable housing in the area.
