LITTLE FALLS, NJ - The Township of Little Falls will be running their first-ever Farmers Market this year. It will be held every Sunday beginning May 31 through Oct. 18 from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. The market is being coordinated by Councilwoman Tanya Seber, along with Christine Habllitz, Event Coordinator for the Township.

According to Seber, the market will be held in the parking lot of the municipal building, located at 225 Main Street. The parking lot will have a section for parking and a section for shopping.

"Farmer's Markets are so important communities, " she said. "There's food out there, and we need to support our local growers and food producers. Most importantly we need to support our local economy."

Seber currently runs the grocery program for Whole Foods Market. She felt the current state of our society has increased the trend of buying local items and that more and more people are gravitating towards items that are grown closer to home.

"People feel more secure with items traveling shorter distances. This is a trend that I've seen in my 18 years of experience in the food industry," she explained. "It's also a great way to support the community."

Seber added that guest vendors will be on-hand throughout the season so people who come by every week will notice new vendors and/or new products available.

"Products change seasonally moving from the spring, summer, through to the fall, depending on what the harvest is," she further added.

Additionally, Seber said the Township will be following the state's guidelines for social distancing.

"We will be adhering to the state's guidelines," she said. "We're going to follow those directives and continue to do exactly what we've done in town. We're active in the community and are going to do what's right to keep our economy going, but we still need to be adhering to the measures for the safety of our residents."

There are still opportunities for vendors to sign up for the Little Falls Farmer's Market. For more information contact Christine Hablitz at or Tanya Seber at
