Montclair Deltas Host 'Birth of a Nation' Movie Screening

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The Montclair Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta will be hosting a movie screening on October 8 at 10 a.m. for the movie The Birth of a Nation.

The Birth of a Nation is a 2016 American period drama film about Nat Turner, the slave who led a slave rebellion in Southampton County, Virginia in 1831. The film is co-written, co-produced and directed by Nate Parker, in his directorial debut. The film stars Parker as Nat Turner, and co-stars Armie Hammer, Aja Naomi King, Jackie Earle Haley, Penelope Ann Miller and Gabrielle Union.​

This screening will be held at 10:00 AM at South Orange 5 Bowtie Cinemas in South Orange, New Jersey.  Guests will enjoy light refreshments prior to the screening (starting at 9:30 AM).  All profits from the fundraising efforts support programming and scholarship efforts in Essex County. ​
