TRENTON, NJ - Montclair Police Detective Kim Nelson-Edwards has teamed up with the New Jersey Attorney General Christopher S. Porrino to announce the launch of a campaign aimed at preventing conflict in police-civilian encounters.
A press conference is scheduled for Wednesday, November 15 in the afternoon and the campaign will also include superstar Shaquille O’Neall and NFL player Jessie Armstead.
According to a release, organizers stated, "while the national debate about whether to stand or kneel rages on, New Jersey is taking action to prevent violent police encounters. Joined by partners from a broad range of New Jersey law enforcement organizations and community advocacy groups, Attorney General Christopher S. Porrino will announce the launch of a new statewide information sharing campaign designed to encourage and prevent conflict in police-citizen interactions."
Nelson-Edwards will be representing NOBLE (National Organization of Blacks in Law Enforcement).
