Sunday, March 12 from 1 to 4 pm. Tours on the hour, last tour at 3. Come discover the many voices that have called the Crane House and Historic YWCA home. Hear the stories of Israel Crane, his family, their domestic servants both enslaved and free, the boarders who lived at the YWCA, and the women and girls from Montclair who socialized there.
Sunday, March 19 from 1 to 4 pm. At this month’s Family FUNday, Crafts from the Past, kids can create a tin-punched candleholder, corn husk creatures, and a woven potholder. They try their hands at writing with a quill pen and serve as “sous chefs” in the hearth kitchen. Busy hands needed to grind spices in the hearth! Tours are self-guided this day. Family membership gets you and all family members in free!
EARLY REGISTRATION FOR HOMETOWN HISTORY BUS TOUR
A bus ride through Montclair's past on Saturday, April 1 from 10 am to 12 noon. This two-hour bus ride gives you a sweeping overview of Montclair’s history looking at its architecture, businesses, and people. Registration for members is $25/person, and is open now. Register early, as space is limited and last year we sold out. Registration for non-members opens on March 7 and is $30/person. Registration is required no later than March 15. Bus leaves from 110 Orange Road, street parking available. Led by Trustee member Helen Fallon and Executive Director Jane Eliasof.
