MONTCLAIR, NJ - Montclair High School Mounties defeated West Essex during the Saturday football game at Woodman Field, 35-0.
Eventhough they started the season with a rough patch, the Mounties, who are now 3-4, are making a strong comeback and have a firm chance of making it to the championships for a 6th straight time.
During the first quarter, Daniel Webb scored a touchdown on an 8-mile run. By halftime, Jason Campbell caught a 56-yard pass from Chris McCoy scoring a touchdown.
The Mounties went into halftime with a score of 21-0.
Elijah J Robinson scored in both the second and third quarter. He caught a 70-yard pass from Robert Nicolas in the second and an 18-yard pass from Tarin Earle in the third. While Daniel Webb also scored a 2-yard run in the third quarter.
West Essex pushed through and tried to make a comeback in the fourth quarter, but it was too late by then. West Essex was no match for Montclair's defensive line, with Fokam Parfait scoring a total of 21 tackles.
Montclair will go up against East Orange on Saturday, November 7 at 1pm at Woodman Field.
